West Dunbartonshire marks Armed Forces Day in Clydebank
West Dunbartonshire Council will honour its military community this week as part of a worldwide Armed Forces Day celebration.
The event – on June 16 – will kick off with a parade starting from Three Queens Square, Clydebank and local cadets, Scouts and veterans’ organisations will be among those taking part. The parade will be led by pipes and drums played by members of D Company, 51st Highland, 7th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (7 SCOTS).
The timings for the day are as follows: 1.00pm – 1.15pm: Parade assembles at Three Queens Square, Clydebank. 1.30pm: Parade proceeds via Abbotsford Road, Chalmers Street, Kilbowie Road and Dumbarton Road. 1.45pm: Salute at Clydebank Town Hall. 2.00pm: Service commences in Clydebank Town Hall. After the service light refreshments will be served in the Reception Hall, Clydebank Town Hall. Guests should enter the Town Hall via Hall Street where they will be met by Council staff.
