Cycling hero Sir Chris Hoy with his medals.

There’s none of them can match the prowess of Sir Chris Hoy, but energetic employees from across Argyll and Bute Council are getting on their bikes next month to cycle 2,053 miles in aid of Sport Relief.
Using spin-cycles at LiveArgyll leisure centres, staff will follow a virtual route around all 81 school establishments in the area, starting at Southend Primary in South Kintyre, and finishing up at Aringour Primary on the Isle of Coll.
The Council’s Policy Lead for Education, Councillor Yvonne McNeilly, pictured left, said: “Wow – what a challenge! I take my hat off to everyone who is participating. We have dedicated and caring staff to be proud of at Argyll and Bute Council, and this is just another example of our employees, quite literally, going the extra mile. Well done everyone.”
