Is it OK to have children?
Given what we know about the future of the planet, is having children a matter of consumer choice, of political conviction, or something an authority will eventually decide for us? Meehan Crist explores the debate about the ethics of childbearing in the age of climate crisis.
Meehan Crist is writer in residence in biological sciences at Columbia University. She is a founding member of NeuWrite and the host of Convergence: a show about the future.
The annual London Review of Books Winter Lectures showcases the LRB’s lively, radical, witty and stimulating agenda through a series of talks by leading scholars and authors. The 11th year of the series features lectures by Colin Burrow, Meehan Crist and Richard Lloyd Parry.
