Seasonal Rangers

About the role

It won’t come as a surprise that our seasonal jobs are during our busy summer months.  There are a variety of positions available, but each one will play a part in delivering our key message “leave no trace”. Our seasonal jobs are available from April until September (maximum contract length is 27 weeks).

We are looking for individuals who have excellent people skills, are enthusiastic about the outdoors and passionate about the countryside to join our team of Seasonal Rangers.

All posts are primarily visitor management focused and support our work managing visitor related pressures and ensuring all visitors to the National Park have a fantastic experience. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent communication interpersonal skills
  • A positive and flexible attitude.
  • Experience of visitor management or work in a customer focused role.
  • Knowledge of and interest in the environment and countryside issues

What we offer

There’s real camaraderie within the Ranger Service and our seasonal team are always given a warm welcome and valued for their contribution. Our rates of pay are competitive and the opportunity to join a great pension scheme and good annual leave allowance.

Positions Available:

Slipway Front of House (x2) – 1 on average 29.75 hours a week and 1 on average 35 hours a week

Visitor Centre (x2) – on average 35 hours a week

Campsites (x3) – on average 35 hours a week

Focused weekend (x1) – on average 14 hours a week (Friday & Saturday only)

Salary: From £18,990 per annum (based on a 37 hr week)

Working Hours:

All contracts work every weekend.

Campsite and Slipway FOH also entails a mixture of normal and late shifts.

Start Location:

Visitor Centre – Balamha Visitor Centre, Balmaha

Slipway FOH – Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway, Balloch

Campsites – Loch Chon and Loch Achray campsites
