Archbishop William Nolan has made the following appointments which were announced at church services in the respective parishes over the weekend.

Canon Gerry Conroy, parish priest of St Patrick’s, Dumbarton, is to take charge also of St Peter’s parish in Bellsmyre.

Father Douglas Green, Assistant Priest at Saint Patrick’s, Dumbarton, pictured right at his ordination last month with Archbishop Nolan, is appointed, in addition to his current role, as  Assistant Priest at Saint Peter’s, Bellsmyre.

For health reasons, Canon Robert Hill, a former chaplain to students and staff at the University of Glasgow,  is stepping down meantime from parish ministry and from his responsibilities as Dean. He will continue to be resident in Saint Matthew’s Presbytery.

Father Nicholas Monaghan, Parish Priest of Saint Dominic’s, Bishopbriggs, is appointed, in addition, Administrator of Saint Matthew’s Bishopbriggs.
Father Alex Mpaggi , on loan to the Archdiocese, is appointed as Assistant Priest in the parishes of Saint Matthew’s and Saint Dominic’s.  These appointments take effect from Saturday 29th October 2022.
Father David Brown, currently Parish Priest of Saint Paul’s, Shettleston is retiring.
Balloch man Father Francis Balmer, who was once an assistant priest at St Patrick’s, Dumbarton, under the late Monsignor Tom Murray, and is currently Parish Priest of Saint Ninian’s, Knightswood, is appointed Parish Priest of Saint Paul’s, Shettleston.
Father Paul Milarvie, formerly of St Michael’s in Dumbarton, and currently Parish Priest of Saint Mary’s, Duntocher, and Saint Joseph’s, Faifley, is appointed Parish Priest of Saint Ninian’s, Knightswood.

Father John McGinley, currently Parish Priest of Saint Peter’s, Bellsmyre is appointed Parish Priest of Saint Mary’s, Duntocher and Saint Joseph’s, Faifley. Father Moloney, formerly PP of St Peter’s is now looking after

He is still looking after St Gilds, Rosneath, Arrochar and St Mahew’s, Cardross, and also helping out with the Navy at Faslane and Coulport.

Father Andrew McGowan, Administrator of Saint Paul’s, Whiteinch, is appointed Parish Priest of Saint Paul’s, Whiteinch.  Father Joseph Uwah, Administrator of Saint Robert’s, Househilwood and Saint Bernard’s, Nitshill, is appointed Parish Priest of Saint Robert’s and Saint Bernard’s.  These appointments are effective immediately.
