Drivers and riders of all ages and abilities are invited to Helensburgh Hermitage Academy on Sunday, 23 April, 2023.
The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) will be hosting a “Drive Scot Free” event, offering free and expert assessment of drivers’ motoring skills, expert guidance and manoeuvrability sessions.
Officers from Police Scotland’s Argyll and West Dunbartonshire Community Engagement Team & Roads Policing Department will also be in attendance to provide advice on road traffic legislation and driving licence requirements.
Jim Bowles from IAM said: “At the Institute of Advanced Motorists we say that having your driving skills periodically reviewed is part of being a responsible motorist. It is a great way to ensure that you and your passengers are safe. Even if you are an excellent driver, our expert assessor can make sure your skills are as sharp as they can be.”
“Some might have passed their driving test decades ago and done very little since to test their ability so it would be of particular benefit for drivers in that category to come along and have their skills assessed.”
The event is being provided free of charge with local sponsorship from Helensburgh Toyota & Argyll and Bute Council providing use of Hermitage Academy.
Car drivers and motorbike riders are invited to bring their vehicles to Helensburgh Hermitage Academy on Sunday, 23 April, 2023 between 10:30am to 4:00pm with final registration for drives at 3.15pm Relatives are also welcome.
