Run Report by Wilson
Event Number 129 – 23rd December 2023
Taking a cue from Run Director Theresa “Santa” McIntyre our 92 participants and 22 Volunteers sported a variety of Festive outfits for our pre-Christmas event.Theresa congratulated a couple of Milestone achievers. Jennifer Mulvenna kindly brought along some chocolates to help celebrate her 25th parkrun, while John Dempster was celebrating his 50th. Congratulations to both.
Not quite “Driving Home for Christmas” but taking a bus with a slight detour, was one of our fourteen First-Time visitors on his way from Leeds to Aberdeen. Some had flown in – from Queensland in Australia and from Germany. One had run round from Greenock while the others hailed from York, Dunfermline and Oban.

We hope our four absolute beginners enjoyed their first-ever parkrun and look forward to welcoming back Carol and Molly Mahoney, Andrew Clegg and Joseph Bradley.
Despite the damp, blustery conditions seven new Personal Best times were recorded. Congratulations to all of those.
One of them was at the head of the field, Andrew Osborne from Greenock Glenpark Harriers with a new PB of 17 mins 28 secs. He was followed home by a Clubmate, Oliver Reilly, on his first visit to Levengrove, in 17:42. Next came another PB performer, Joe Goldie, in 19:35.
Jane O’Donnell from Dundee Road Runners was first Woman home in 23:06. Next came Veronica Bell in 23:49 and Morag Campbell in 25:23.
Today’s leading Juniors were Ross Atkinson from West Dunbartonshire AC in 25:26 and Beth Holmes in 26.16 Well done both.
Details of all those PB performers, First-Timers and a complete event history can be found in this week’s full results here: https://parkrun.org.uk/Levengrove/results/latestresults
