Donna Marie Brand, now 44, pictured extreme m right below, was last month ordered to serve a minimum term of 17 years for her part in the murder of 14-year-old Caroline in August 1996. The crime is alleged to have taken place on the banks of the River Leven in Renton at the Black Bridge between Renton and Bonhill, where Caroline lived. Brand has now appealed against both her sentence and her conviction and will appear at the High Court in Edinburgh at a later date.
