Match Report from Dumbarton FC official website

A second-half goal from Scott Honeyman earned Dumbarton all three points against Heart of Midlothian B this evening.

The visitors were the better side in the first-half with Henry Lister and Gus Stevenson coming close as Sons best effort fell to Chris Johnston but he was off target.

The home side started to create chances after the break when Kristian Webster was introduced; he linked up with Honeyman shortly after his arrival but the latter just missed the target.

Sons did find the breakthrough with 20-minutes to go when Cammy Clark’s long throw dropped for Honeyman and his first time volley flew into the bottom corner.

Aron Lynas and Leighton McIntosh came close to adding a second but narrowly missed the target but Honeyman’s strike turned out to be enough.

Stevie Farrell’s side are sixth in the KDM Evolution Trophy league stage after two wins from two ahead of a return to league duty on Saturday against Edinburgh City.
