My dad’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 2nd December 2025 at 11.15am at Cardross crematorium. We will carry on to Dumbarton Harp Club thereafter to share fond memories.
The family would kindly ask if those connected with Brora Rangers would wear something red on their person for the service as he loved the red of his Brora Rangers FC.
From all the Duffy family I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to every single person who has contacted me, my mum and two sisters with such kind words, love and support which has been absolutely off the scale and we cannot thank you enough.
This has helped us over the last couple of days more than you will ever know and it will continue to do so onwards. God bless

Vale of Leven Football & Athletic Club
Everyone at Millburn was saddened to hear of the passing of former Vale right back Bobby Duffy at the age of 78.
Bobby started his career at Millburn in July 1966 as an 18 year old and in his first season earned a couple of Junior International caps against Wales and Ireland in March 1967. At the end of that season his outstanding form earned him a step up to join St.Mirren where he won a 2nd Division championship in his first season under Alex Wright.
Bobby played over 40 games for Saints until he moved to Stranraer in season 1969-70. He spent the rest of his senior playing career with Stranraer, finally calling time at the end of season 1975-76. The classy defender was to play over 220 games in the south west and highly regarded by the Stranraer support.
When he retired from playing senior football he was enticed back to Vale in July 1976 by their manager at the time, former Celtic goalkeeper Evan Williams. Bobby joined as player coach and he was an inspiration to the many young Vale players at the time with his performances on the park. When Evan later left to join Albion Rovers as Assistant Manager, Bobby took on the role as Manager at the Vale for the 1977/78 season and after only 1 season in charge he was offered the role as Player Manager with Brora Rangers in the Highland League. This coincided with his move from Assistant Sheriff Clerk at Dumbarton Sheriff Court to Sheriff Clerk at Dornoch Sheriff Court.
It wasn’t long before he moulded a successful Brora squad who won the Qualifying Cup for the first time in their history in 1979. The following year Brora had their highest ever finish in the Highland League when they were runners-up. His time in charge lay the foundation for what has become a very dominant Highland League side.
Bobby moved back to Dumbarton in recent years but was always a welcome visitor to Dudgeon Park on trips back north.
We are grateful to have witnessed the special talents of Bobby Duffy in his two spells at Millburn, a true gentleman on and off the park.
Our thoughts are with his family and many friends at this difficult time.

Anyone who has been around Vale of Leven FC throughout the years will know that the club would not be what it is without Angus and all his hard work and dedication that he has brought. An incredible amount of work goes on behind the scenes at the club that just wouldn’t be possible without Angus, including tending to his pride and joy …our football pitch!
As a club we cannot thank Angus enough for everything he has brought to the club and made it what it is today, it’s not an exaggeration to say the club would not exist without him. So thank you Angus for it all.
