One of Scotland’s foremost news services, the Dundee Press Agency, has been sold to newly formed Hero Media & Entertainment.
The new publishing company has been “masterminded by two of the most experienced publishing professionals” in the UK – Mark Hollinshead, a former managing director of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail in Glasgow, and Mike Hartley, chief revenue officer at HME.
Hollinshead’s partner in life is Lorraine Herbison, who began life in newspapers at the Lennox Herald in Dumbarton, and most recently became News and Sports editor at Radio Clyde.
The couple, who will now be in charge of at least five big business publications, is pictured at the top of the page.
Former Dundee Press Agency owner Graham Ogilvie said: “I’m looking forward to continuing with the team for the next two years to help transform the landscape of Scottish news publishing. HME’s plans are great news for journalists and for readers.”
Ogilvie added: “The new company will continue to develop and strengthen Scottish Housing News, Scottish Construction Summit, Scottish Construction Now, Scottish Legal News, Scottish Financial News, and Irish Legal News – building on our 55,000 subscribers and 105,000 LinkedIn followers.
“It’s 25 years this year since I launched our first title – Scottish Housing News with just 13 email addresses. So, a long haul, but the success of the business is a real testament to our talented, committed, and loyal staff – Kieran Findlay, Kapil Summan, Connor Beaton, George Iordanov-Nalbantov, Lauren Cochrane, Mitchell Skilling, Jeff Anderson, and Raymond Carr.”
