Police Scotland Argyll & West Dunbartonshire

The most recent cohort of officers, which includes a mixture of Police Scotland and British Transport Police recruits, undertook their scenarios today.
The probationary constables are put through realistic, scenario-based exercises designed to reflect the kinds of events they’ll face when deployed to communities across Scotland.
From large-scale sporting events to public demonstrations, officers must be prepared to manage crowds safely, fairly, and lawfully.
A core part of this training focuses on:
Human rights – ensuring every action respects the rights and dignity of individuals
Legislation – understanding the legal framework that guides decision making
Communication & de-escalation – using effective dialogue to show understanding and help resolve situations
These exercises help recruits develop not just practical skills, but the ability to make difficult decisions in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Police Scotland is recruiting both police officers and special constables now https://orlo.uk/fvn98
