The eye-watering figures were included in Scottish Water’s latest accounts

Scottish Water bosses have been awarded £258,000 in bonuses at a time of consumer price rises and sewage scandals.
While ex-soldier Tam Towie, right, and Friends of Dumbarton Foreshore and the River Leven toil endlessly to keep our rivers, burns and lochs free from sewage, Alex Plant, the chief executive at publicly-owned Scottish Water, was given another £115,000 on top of his £315,000 salary.
The Chief Executive’s full remuneration package came to £432,000 this year.
“No doubt ministers will again defend these indefensible payments, but the sums involved remain obscene.”
Other Scottish Water executives were also rewarded with performance bonuses.
Scottish Labour acting leader Jackie Baillie, pictured right, said: “These are eye-watering sums for Scottish Water bosses to be picking up.
Tory MSP Liam Kerr,
£315, 000 salary for running a public service that delivers all of Scotland’s clean water and sewage services.
If it were a private company it would be huge one. Maybe it should be, because then the chairman could maybe have a super yacht as part of his remuneration package.
In fact what self respecting man heading up a business the size of Scottish Water would be happy to take the paltry salary that the SW head gets. But hey hoe, it’s a good ya boo for the politicos, many many who are funded by big business.
