A Police Scotland officer was assaulted during Sunday’s Old Firm match at Ibrox.
The force said a 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident at the Premier Sports Cup game, which Rangers won 3-0.
Officers made a total of four arrests during the quarter-final clash, including a 55-year-old man for sectarian abuse.
A spokesperson said a 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with breach of the peace.
A fourth, aged 27, was arrested in connection with threatening and abusive behaviour and resisting arrest.
Chief Supt Stevie Dolan said the match, which kicked off at 12:00, passed without major incident and thanked the “majority of fans” for their conduct throughout the day.
He added: “A small number of offences were detected during the course of the event.
“These included one instance of police assault and a separate incident involving sectarian abuse.
“Behaviour such as this is never acceptable and will not be tolerated.”
He added the 28-year-old and 55-year-old suspects would be reported to the procurator fiscal.
There were no away supporters at the game following a “temporary arrangement” which was reached after talks between the Glasgow clubs and the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL).
It followed the Scottish FA’s independent review into events surrounding last Season’s Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox, which was marred by unrest and pitch incursions from both sets of fans.
Derek McInnes’ team will now face Aberdeen in the semi-finals while Hearts will play Hibs for a place in the final at Hampden on 13 December.

Seven more people have been arrested and charged over disorder during fan celebrations after Celtic’s Scottish Premiership title win in May.
Two police officers were seriously injured and three members of the public required hospital treatment when trouble broke out in the Trongate area of Glasgow.
That two police officers were in fact seriously injured in the chaotic scenes and that the number of Celtic fans arrested far exceeds the number of Rangers fans arrested at similar event in George Square has been challenged by Celtic fans on social media.
Six males, aged 17, 18, 33, 35, 43 and 45, and a 28-year-old woman are accused of various offences, including assault, possession of an offensive weapon, culpable and reckless conduct and breach of the peace.
They will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date. It brings the number of arrests around the title party disorder to 50. A further 13 people have been charged over various offences but not arrested.
Police Scotland said extensive inquiries remained ongoing to identify those responsible for the criminality at Celtic Park – where a pitch invasion took place in stoppage time.
The disorder in Trongate took place after the game.

Police Scotland estimated about 3,000 supporters gathered after a dramatic 3-1 win over Hearts sealed Celtic’s fifth Scottish title in a row.
The day before the game, Celtic had asked fans not to take part in an unofficial “title party” in the Trongate area, which has become a popular place for Celtic fans to congregate in recent years.
The game on 16 May saw scores of fans run onto the pitch in injury time, after Celtic scored a third goal that clinched a 3-1 win and the Premiership title.
Trouble also occurred in Glasgow’s Trongate area after the game, with two police officers seriously injured and three members of the public needing hospital treatment.
The 38-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.
More than 30 other people have been arrested over the trouble in the Trongate, for a number of different offences.
About 3,000 supporters had gathered in the area to celebrate Celtic winning the league.
