BBC Scotland is reporting that Colin Weir, who won one of Europe’s biggest lottery jackpots, has died after a short illness aged 71.

Trailblazing footballer Rose Reilly has pledged to donate her brain after her death so more research can be done into female concussion. Rose, who was crowned the world’s best female footballer in 1984, said she knew former players who had died of degenerative brain conditions.
STOP PRESS: KING TO STEP DOWN AS ‘GERS CHAIRMAN
Valeman Dave King is to step down as the chairman of Rangers next year after four-and-a-half years at the helm. Major shareholder King made the announcement at the club’s AGM in Glasgow. The South Africa-based businessman was one of the leading figures in taking control of Rangers in 2015. He will continue to support the club as a shareholder and in negotiations with retail partner Sports Direct.
