Second Loch Lomond death in a week
BBC Scotland News is reporting that a teenager has died after being rescued from Loch Lomond.
The alarm was raised after the 17-year-old was spotted in the loch, north of Luss, at about 19:20 on Sunday.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said the boy was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, where he later died.
She added: “A post-mortem examination will take place in due course, however there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.”
His death came four days after the body of a missing swimmer was pulled from Loch Lomond.
The 25-year-old man got into difficulty near the Maid of the Loch in Balloch, West Dunbartonshire, last Wednesday.
He was later named as Radu Dishkaw, a member of the Kurdish community in Glasgow.
A police helicopter and Loch Lomond Rescue boat were involved in a major search for the missing man.
His body was recovered from the loch the following day and police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
