England exit World Cup

Harry’s England prediction goes all wrong

The other Prince Harry, Earl of Dumbarton,  said football was “most definitely” coming home as he and his wife Meghan Markle, the Countess of Dumbarton, met Ireland President Michael D Higgins.

As England geared up for its biggest night of football in decades against Croatia, Prince Harry, who is visiting Dublin with his wife, was asked by a reporter if “football was coming home”.

As Harry and Meghan posed for a picture for the Irish Times with President Higgins and his wife Sabina, the Duke of Dumbarton replied, laughing, “most definitely”.

That made it a game of three Harrys, with England stars Harry Kane, pictured below, and Harry Maguire on the field of play and Dumbarton glued to the telly in Dublin.

The outcome was not the one Prince wanted however with Croatia winning the match in extra time.

It could have been a really bad week for the Countess of Dumbarton since England went out of the Jules Rimet Trophy competition and her fellow American, Serina Williams, lost in the final of the tennis at Wimbledon. Sons saved her from the embarrassment of a hat trick of sporting failure when they beat Spartans in Edinburgh.

STOP PRESS: Sadly, Croatia beat England 2-1 after extra time. Great game, nail biting. England went down 2-0 to Belgium in the match for third place on Saturday. World Cup Final between France and Croatia takes place on on Sunday.
