Tenders invited to restore Maid of the Loch at Balloch Pier

The Loch Lomond Steamship Company is poised to go ahead with a £2.5 million re-fit of the Maid of the Loch.
A notice to this effect has appeared on the Public Contracts Scotland website. It states: “This notice is to invite potential suppliers for all or some of the ship refit and associated work and naval architecture to express interest in order to receive specific invitations to quote when funding is confirmed (late September 2018).
“The aim is to restore heritage ship PS Maid of the Loch to full sailing condition on inland water Loch Lomond for 399 passengers.”
Tenders have to be in by the beginning of next month for the main contract.
Meanwhile, the company is searching for a PR and Marketing company which will be responsible for day to day digital marketing and social media activities. Optimise social media presence on a digital channels and platforms by delivering a public relations programme by issuing news releases and organising media events.
