Woman killed and pensioners hurt in crash near Daligan Farm on Blackhill-Helensburgh road
Police are appealing for information following the death of Caroline Nelson in a road crash near Daligan Farm on the road between Helensburgh and the Crosskeys roundabout at the entrance to Glen Fruin.
Around 9.10 am on Monday, two cars were involved in collision and the 45-year-old woman driver of a Vauxhall Meriva died at the scene. The driver of a Volkswagen, a 71-year-old man, and his 70-year-old female passenger, were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where medical staff described their condition as serious but stable. The road was re-opened at approximately 2.40pm this afternoon.
Sergeant Paul MacPherson, of the Dumbarton Road Policing Unit, is appealing for witnesses to the crash. He said: “Although a number of people stopped to assist at the time, I am still keen to hear from anyone who may have either witnessed the crash or indeed who saw the cars on the road prior to it happening.
