THE GLASGOW ART CLUB: 13th October to 10th November 2018

To celebrate what would have been David Michie’s 90th birthday this autumn a retrospective of his work will be on show during a selling exhibition at the Glasgow Art Club between 13th October and 10th November 2018.

The 50 paintings and lithographs have been put together by his daughters, Alison Wanless and Lindsey Michie, and are the first solo exhibition of David Michie’s work to be held in Glasgow. There will also be works by his mother, Anne Redpath, and his father, James Michie on display.

In his self-published ‘David Michie – A Sketchbook’, he described his work, thus: “There is not a single enduring theme, except my continuing curiosity for what I have found around me and my responses to the compelling presence of something seen. There are, however, several groups of interest: people, places, gardens, flowers, birds and insects, together with several other odd reflections.”

The paintings and lithographs on exhibition will be available for sale.
