Dumbarton FC fans know where to go for a pre-match pie when next they play Queen of the South at Palmerston Park in Dumfries.
The World Championship Scotch Pie Award has been won by The Little Bakery of Dumfries, which has been announced as the 20th winner of the competition.

  • By over 80 of the nation’s best butchers and bakers
  • Judged by 50 industry experts and professionals
  • 11 category winners selected
  • But only ONE World Scotch Pie champion

Following a busy judging day with over 80 butchers and bakers entering over 450 pies, sausage rolls, bridies, savouries and apple pies into the competition and with some 200 hopefuls attending the awards luncheon in Cumbernauld, The Little Bakery can truly be proud to have produced the best Scotch Pie in the country.

Kerr Little, of the Little Bakery, said: “We won, I am speechless! To have been given the ultimate accolade today and to be able to call our pie the WORLD CHAMPION as judged by a panel of experts is just excellent. This award is proof of what I have known for a long time that The Little Bakery team is the best in the land. I am really looking forward to the year ahead and to selling more of our champion pies than ever.”

TV presenter and entrepreneur, Carol Smillie, who presented The Little Bakery with their award, said: “I have announced the winner for four years in a row now and I know what it means to win so I am delighted for The Little Bakery and for what the year ahead holds. But for every winner here today, they can be proud and I hope they all see business boom as they all enjoy their well-deserved success.”
