Hi Folks,
This is an urgent request for helpers in the craft centre- in the shop, especially, but also for the Facebook page, marketing, fund-raising and workshops. There is really a lot to do and we are finding it difficult to open 6 days a week and do all the jobs that are needed to make it successful.
The beautiful displays of arts and crafts you have provided have been so good for inspiring people and lifting the spirits of people visiting our dull and dilapidated town centre- we must try to keep providing that inspiration, open longer hours and provide more opportunities for getting together and making lovely things.
If you can help in any way and would like to be more involved, please come in to the centre, get in touch by email lochlomond.craftcentre@gmail.com, Facebook lochlomondcraftcentre or telephone Susan on 07810095193.
As expected, it has been quiet since Christmas, but Easter is nearly here, and we hope you will bring us some lovely things to sell in time for the new season.
I would also like to invite you to “The Vale in Focus” photographic exhibition/ discussion about what is good about the Vale and what could be better. It is in the Community Education Centre, Main Street, Alexandria on Saturday 23 March, 12-3pm. The flier is attached. Please come for the discussion, and have your views recorded in the report which will be available in a few weeks. Tables are also available, free, for promoting community groups and events or for selling arts and crafts. Please let us know if you would like one.
The Vale of Leven Trust are also holding discussion groups about the Vale. Their flier is also attached. The venues have been changed slightly so please check on their Facebook page. Lots going on to try to improve things here and opportunities to voice your opinions and help to make changes.
Tullichewan Tenants and Residents Association are asking for raffle prizes for their event on Saturday 23rd March. It could be a good way of getting your work known. If you would like to donate anything from your stock please let us know and someone will collect it from the craft centre later in the week.
Please get involved in the centre if you can- we do need more people to help it run at its best.
All the best,
Susan, Maggie and the team–
Sincerely
Loch Lomond Craft Centre
