Luss village went en fete on Saturday when lovely Sarah Finlay married Rich Matthews in the parish church. Crowds gathered on the pier and along the lochside for a better view of the fabulous fashion and the celebrities wearing it, including the former Scotland and Partick Thistle goalkeeper, Alan Rough, who is married to the mother of the bride, Maggie Barry, the Scottish media motoring correspondent. This may explain why a number of Rolls Royce limos transported the principals and the guests to the wedding. The nuptials were conducted by the Rev Ian Miller, formerly of Bonhill Parish Church, whose contacts in the world of football are legendary, at Luss Parish Church and then the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel in the heart of the Bonnie Banks village. Guests came from Australia, Jamaica, New York, France and Canada. The groom, Rich, is a Geordie from Hexham.
