ARMED FORCES MARCH THROUGH DUMBARTON

Naval cadets stride out through Dumbarton High Street.

A short commemorative service, led by the Rev Ian Johnson of Dumbarton Riverside Church, West Kirk and St Andrew’s Church, was held in the Council’s Church Street offices.

During it, a framed map of Dunbartonshire dated 1823 was presented to the Council by James Murie.

Provost Hendrie said: “This event was a great opportunity to recognise the bravery and dedication of the Armed Forces personnel in our area and it was humbling to be among them.

“I was delighted to see such a great show of support from West Dunbartonshire residents who turned out to show how much they value the important work these men and women do on a daily basis.”
