A party of top lawn bowlers, who are visiting West Dunbartonshire for a national tournament, have been celebrated at a civic reception.
The Civil Service Bowling Association (CSBA) brings players from Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales to compete in the annual event.
It is the second time the organisation have chosen to hold the competition in West Dunbartonshire, with this year’s contest taking place over four days from Monday 8 July at Dumbarton’s Rock Bowling Club.
Provost William Hendrie invited the group to Clydebank Town Hall on Sunday night.
He said: “This is the association’s biggest event, so I am pleased that the CSBA have chosen West Dunbartonshire once again as the host.
“The four-day tournament is a great opportunity for all nations to come together and compete. But it’s not only about sport, it is also about socialising with players from other countries and allowing local clubs to get involved too.
“I was honoured to hold a Civic Reception to let the group know how much we value having them in West Dunbartonshire, and I hope we see them again in the future.”
The tournament programme includes international competition in singles, pairs, triples and fours plus double fours categories.
There will also be an Open Pairs competition with a Plate event.
Local clubs will be able to get involved too, with evening matches throughout the week.
Bowlers who are not taking part in the competition will be offered the chance to go on day in the area.
The competition was rounded off by a presentation dinner on Thursday evening, where winners will be congratulated.
