Jackie Baillie has called for focus to be on protecting the economy as lockdown eases. She has asked for an extension to the current Job Retention Scheme for businesses who will not be able to reopen to pay employees beyond the current period of the scheme.

“It must be a statutory inquiry under the Inquiries Act 2005, judge led with assessors if necessary. It must have the power to compel the production of documents and the attendance of witnesses including, if necessary, the Prime Minister.
