Hello there,

With only a few days of the 2020 Book Festival to go, we are all feeling a bit emotional – but thankfully it’s not over yet! And we’re so excited about what we still have in store – from more thrilling live broadcasts, to the incredible events now available on demand on our website and YouTube channel. There are plenty of fabulous family events for kids to enjoy in our Baillie Gifford Children’s Programme – live or on demand –, as well as daily Facebook DrawAlongs, and new learning resources to help teachers and parents get even more from our events for young people. There is also plenty of time to have a cheeky browse, and purchase books from your favourite authors, events, or Scottish publishers, from our online Festival Bookshop.

Over an electrifying final few days, we’ll be broadcasting events from some of the world’s biggest literary stars – Sebastian Barry, Brit Bennett, Ali Smith & Sarah Wood, Elif Shafak, Matt Haig, and Arundhati Roy – just to name a few. And don’t forget to tune in for our final Closing Night event, which sees a stellar line-up of special guests sharing their visions and wildest prescriptions for a better future, and offering us a ‘Case for Hope’.

You can attend as many Book Festival events as you like – either set a reminder for any event that interests you, or simply tune in any time from 30 minutes before the event starts.

Every event in our 2020 programme is completely FREE to watch. If you have enjoyed the Festival so far and feel you’d like to make a donation to the Book Festival charity to support our work, you can do so at any time on our website.
