DOWN MEMORY LANE

The second great old photograph of the day from Frances Slorach is of St Patrick’s Boys’ Guild at their annual summer holiday camp in Fort Augustus in 1937. You should have an entertaining afternoon identifying the boys and young men in the picture. I’ll point out a few I know but won’t place them in the picture since we will publish it again later with hopefully many more names and where the are in the picture. I can see Andy Pryce, Benny Quinn, Dick McCallion, Tony Donaldson, Danny Macdonnell, Sheeny King, Mick Ward and Willie Connolly, but I don’t know who the priest is. Pass away a few of those boring Covid lockdown hours by transporting yourself back to the old days when things were “normal”.  Please send your “who’s who and where” answers to heaneymedia@btinternet.com and refer friends you would like to see this to The Dumbarton Democrat at democratonline.com, your cutting edge digital news and features platform, edited by local people for local people right here in West Dunbartonshire. The third picture (top of the page) is of a St Michael’s Boys’ Guild reunion in the early Eighties.Editor
