The resilience of the Erskine family has been severely tested during the past few months.  As a result of the COVID pandemic no area of our charity has remained untouched as we have striven to keep our country’s heroes safe, happy and well during challenging circumstances.

We have been overwhelmed by your loyalty and grateful for the unwavering financial and emotional support we have received from the wider community.

However with no end in sight to the difficulties we are living with Erskine asks you, our supporters for your help once more. Regular donations to the charity ensure the high standard of care we have offered since 1916 to over 96,000 ex-service personnel, can continue uninterrupted, and we are seeking new supporters to help fund the vital sum of around £10million required to support this work.

The most effective way we can secure the funding we need is by visiting the public, door to door.  As the health and safety of our supporters and fundraisers is of course our top priority we have brought in extra measures to protect everyone. Our door to door fundraisers are highly trained in COVID-19 health and safety measures and social distancing.  They are easily recognisable by their Erskine ID badges, purple branded clothing and face masks.

Trained by Erskine staff and acquainted with Erskine’s history, Veterans and present challenges, our fundraisers are uniquely placed to narrate first-hand the difference even the smallest of donations makes to the charity’s veterans’ and spouses across our four care homes especially at this time.

We will never ask for a donation by cash, cheque or debit/credit card at the door.  The method of donation is by Direct Debit, which we consider to be a safe and convenient method of giving for both parties involved. People can sign up using contactless technology – QR code or SMS.

It is very important you have a positive experience with our fundraisers whether you choose to support Erskine or not, your feedback is not only valuable but appreciated. Contact us at or call 0141 814 4657. You can also find answers to some frequently asked questions by visiting
