A heavy goods vehicle lorry driver from Vale of Leven was killed by a motorist who was still over the drink driving limit from watching football the night before.
Michael Hall was driving at almost 90mph when he lost control of his BMW on the M74 motorway near Lesmahagow when his car was in collision with the HGV driven by Malcolm Easton, 42, of Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire, who died from his injuries sustained in the horrific crash in May last year.
The High Court in Glasgow this week was told how Hall was more than twice the legal drink drive limit at the time.
The 38-year-old car sales manager is now in custody after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. He will be sentenced later this month.
