COVID TAKES ITS TOLL ON REMEMBRANCE SERVICES AT LEVENGROVE CENOTAPH

It was the quietest ever Remembrance Sunday service at the Levengrove Park cenotaph in Dumbarton on Sunday. Jackie Baillie, the Labour MSP for Dumbarton, and Depute Provost Karen Conaghan (pictured below) were joined by a small group of people who obeyed orders and stayed away in order to avoid contracting Covid-19. They paid their respects to the fallen, many of them relatives,  in the world wars and other conflicts. The skirl o’ the pipes echoed across the River Clyde towards Dumbarton Rock and the Renfrewshire Hills on a cold, wet and windy morning. As ever, the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, the local infantry regiment, were well represented.
