JOURNALISM: HUGH PYMN WINS PRESITIGIOUS CHARLES WHEELER AWARD

BJR’s Charles Wheeler Award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcast Journalism 2020

British Journalism Review and the University of Westminster invite you to the annual presentation of BJR’s Charles Wheeler Award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcast Journalism awarded to Hugh Pym, Health Editor, BBC News. Top picture is Susan Pym meeting HM the Queen

Hugh Pym is married to Dumbarton Academy former pupil Susan Pym, who is a prominent member of the Church of Scotland. The family have an attachment to Riverside Parish Church in Dumbarton, where Hugh has given a number of talks is recent years. His mother in law is Joan Neil and his late father in law Andy Neil was a prominent member of Dumbarton Golf Club. The couple have three grown up children and live in London. See picture below in which Joan Neil is front right.

The presentation will be followed by the annual BJR Charles Wheeler Lecture,  Guest speaker:  Sir Peter Bazalgette, Executive Chairman, ITV.
