Police arrest MP over ‘Covid rule breach’

BBC Scotland was reporting tonight that SNP MP Margaret Ferrier has been arrested by police after she admitted using public transport while infected with Covid-19.
Ms Ferrier apologised for what she called a “blip” in September.
She was suspended from the SNP group at Westminster and leaders, including First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, urged her to quit as an MP over the row.
Police Scotland said she had been charged in connection with “alleged culpable and reckless conduct”.
Ms Ferrier apologised in September after travelling from London to Glasgow having tested positive for coronavirus.
The Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP said she had experienced “mild symptoms” and taken a test, but had then decided to travel to Westminster because she was “feeling much better”.
She then travelled home again on a train after receiving the positive test result, and said she “deeply regretted” her actions.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm that officers today arrested and charged a 60-year-old woman in connection with alleged culpable and reckless conduct.
“This follows a thorough investigation by Police Scotland into an alleged breach of coronavirus regulations between 26 and 29 September 2020.
“A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal and we are unable to comment further.”
Ms Ferrier has been contacted for comment. Top picture is of passengers leaving a train in Glasgow.
She travelled down to London to speak in Parliament. Whilst 5here she got a call to say she had tested positive. She then made a mistake and travelled home, a mistake she immediately acknowledged.
The Metropolitan Police on investigation decided to take no action.
Sturgeon then withdraws whip and tells her to resign. She stays on as an independent MP and so fourth months after the event Police Scotland arrest and charge her with culpable and reckless conduct an offence that can occasion a custodial sentence of between one year and life.
Shades of the stitch up against Alex Salmond. Or shades of the criminal cases against journalists Craig Murray or Mark Hirst. Or shades of the jailing of Manny Singh after the last 100,000 AUOB march where an SNP councillor only days before the march advance the march start time after it had been agreed. ( he’ll know to listen to us next time ! – being the triumphal tweet being that of one of the woke inner circle councillors after his jailing )
Or what of the unfounded allegations against another SNP politician Michelle Thompson investigated and charged by police.
A recurring theme coming out of all of this, Salmond, Murray, Hirst, Singh and now Ferrier that is that of the absolute abuse of the mechanisms of the state to destroy political opponents.
This behaviour is straight out of the 1930s German playbook. No wonder journalists, law society, faculty of advocates, Catholic Church and many more are terrified about how the impending Hate Crime will be used.
Something is very rotten.
