All change at local weekly newspapers
Publishers Newsquest have added five titles to his remit of Paul Fisher, managing editor for Ayrshire and Clyde Weekly Press by Newsquest. He currently serves as senior content editor across four Ayrshire newspapers – the Ardrossan Herald, Cumnock Chronicle, Irvine Times and Ayr Advertiser, but will now also take responsibility for the Clydebank Post, Helensburgh Advertiser, Renfrewshire Gazette, Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter and the Barrhead News. Paul’s new titles were previously overseen by Tom McConigley, who has left Newsquest for a new role. The ditorial departments of the Newsquest papers are based in Clydebank and their Dumbarton and Helensburgh offices have been closed. The only local news organisation operating out of Dumbarton is The Democrat, which is owned, edited and published by HeaneyMedia. Bill Heaney is a former editor of both the Dumbarton and Vale of Leven Reporter and the Lennox Herald.
