A young female whose age is unknown, was rushed to Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children.
The fire broke out at around 10.30am at Ashton View in Westcliff, Dumbarton, and police, firefighters and ambulance crews called to the scene.
Residents were evacuated and police have confirmed that three people were taken to hospital suffering with smoke inhalation.
A man and a woman were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. A fourth person was given medical attention at the scene, but was not taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers attended and a number of nearby houses were evacuated as a precaution. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire safely.
“A man, a woman and a young female have been taken to hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.”
