Jackie Baillie has been re-elected as the MSP for Dumbarton constituency following the 2021 Scottish Parliament elections.

Baillie, who has represented the seat since the inaugural Scottish Parliament elections in 1999, was returned to her seat with an increased majority.

In 2016, Baillie was elected with a majority of just 109. She increased her share of the vote in these elections from 13,522 (40.2%) to 17,825 (46.3%) and now has a majority of 1,483 votes.

Jackie Baillie ran a community focused campaign with the key theme of concentrating on recovery from the pandemic, rather than another independence referendum. She and her campaign team spoke to thousands of local voters who talked about their concern for jobs and the economy; waiting times for NHS treatment and the need for an education catch up programme for our young people.

Jackie Baillie, pictured right,  MSP said:  “I am absolutely delighted that once again the people of Dumbarton, the Vale of Leven and Helensburgh & Lomond have put their faith in me and re-elected me as their MSP. It is a privilege to represent the community in which I live and I am humbled that over 17,000 local people turned out to vote for me.

“Local voters have made it clear that they want a government which focuses on recovery for communities, families and the economy – rather than one which obsesses over another independence referendum.

“I will also start work with local GPs and campaigners on the return of more diagnostic services and treatment at the Vale of Leven hospital.

“I promise to represent the views and needs of everyone in my constituency regardless of who they voted for and I look forward to getting back to the job representing an area that I love.”
