BOOKS: HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY TO CONNEMARA ARTIST JOE BOSKE

What a party! Joe Boske, all round artist, author, poet, painter, wine buff and scribbler celebrated his 70th birthday at Clifden Station House Hotel in Clifden, Connemara, owned by John Sweeney, one of the sponsors for his latest book ‘Buying Yak Milk in Gurtymadden’. Joe celebrated the publication of his book at Clifden Arts Week. It comes ‘After the alarming success of Hooley in the Trauma Ward, Easy on the Krill Oil, Tarquin, The Jolly Revisionist and his magnum opus, Rymes Against Humanity. Now this.

Rumoured to have been born foreign, the author (pictured with friends in the Tation House, Hotel) nonetheless says he had the good sense to emigraten to Ireland when, at a delicate age, it occurred to him that he’d be better off elsewhere … and they all agreed. Bills, writs, letters of complaint appear to be addressed to one Joe Boske, Bantry, Co Cork. The fools!
