By Rory Murphy

Jackie Baillie, MSP for Dumbarton Constituency, has praised local Alexandria boys Jack Mullen and Alfie King after the boys were crowned Young Scot ‘Unsung Heroes’ and ‘Young Scots of the Year’.

The prestigious awards were given because of the extensive community and charity work that the boys have carried out. The awards include nominees from across Scotland.

Jackie Baillie has submitted a motion to the Scottish Parliament congratulating the boys and she has invited them to visit the Scottish  Parliament once COVID-19 restrictions allows for it.

Jackie Baillie MSP said:  “I hope everyone in our community will join me in congratulating Jack and Alfie for their wonderful achievement. This is such a prestigious set of awards to win and I am delighted that their hard work and dedication has been recognised.

“I hope that other young people in our area are inspired by Jack and Alfie. I look forward to welcoming the boys to the Scottish Parliament once it is safe to do so.”
