BOOKS: COUNTRYFILE MATT’S LAUNCHING HIS FIRST BOOK

In a pre-recorded video filmed on his farm, Matt said: “Big news on the farm this morning. I’ve got an announcement to make. On the 30th of September, I’m going to be publishing my first ever book!

Looking relaxed and happy whilst leaning on his Land Rover in a field of sheep, he continued: “It’s all about how the countryside has made me who I am, with stories from my life and career so far and I’ve included loads of sketches throughout.

“It’s called A Year On Our Farm – How the Countryside Made Me and it’s out on the 30th of September!

“I’ve signed some copies already which you can pre-order now.”

He followed up with a string of hashtags including “#hopeyoulikeit”.

Inundated with support, his friends, family and fans were quick to comment. His wife Nicola wrote: “Two of my favourite things rolled into one!”, while Strictly’s Oti Mabuse said: “Still a natural on the screen though.”

Fans will no doubt be pre-ordering a copy already if their reaction is anything to go by. One wrote: “So exciting! What a wonderful subject to capture ❤️”, while another said: “Wow can’t wait…. Just in time for my birthday so I’ll be hinting to family… I’ll start now… 😊” and a third said: “Definitely going to be top of my Christmas present list!”.
