Wimbledon 2021 Women’s Singles Final Highlights: Ashleigh Barty lifted her second Grand Slam crown at the Centre Court, London on Saturday after defeating eighth seed Karolina Pliskova 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 in the women’s singles final of this year’s Wimbledon Championships.
Aussie Ashleigh, who is currently the top-ranked women’s singles player, reached her maiden Wimbledon final by ousting former champion Angelique Kerber in the last four and became the first Australian woman in 41 years to win a Wimbledon singles title.
Her opponent, the big-serving Pliskova, mounted a brilliant comeback in the second set, winning it 7-4 in the tiebreak. But the 25-year-old Barty proved to be too good and was presented with the trophy in the end by Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, who wore green to match the main colour on the Centre Court.
The guy in the black Liverpool FC baseball cap is Ashleigh’s boyfriend, Gary Kissick.
