The distillery, which is home to the award-winning Isle of Harris gin and ‘The Hearach’ single malt, is looking for new staff

Based at the distillery on the Isle of Harris, the successful candidate for this ‘hands on role’ will report into the operations manager.
The job advert reads: “The majority of your time will be spent learning the art of whisky production and helping to create our award-winning Isle of Harris Gin and our eagerly awaited single malt, The Hearach.
“The role will primarily focus on distilling, filling, and warehousing of casks. The remainder of your time will be spent supporting the wider production team in all the varying aspects of operations to achieve the goals of the business in line with the Isle of Harris Distillery ethos.
“As a key member of a small team with diverse operations you must be flexible and resourceful and at all times support the wider visitor operations.
“Key competencies required to fulfil this role would include extremely high quality standards, good mathematical skills as well as an ability to support continuous improvement in operations.
“Every member of the team will have Harris at their heart, so will be ambassadors for the island. As such, your personality and behaviour will embody all that Isle of Harris Distillers stands for.”
The distillery operates in a shift pattern – 7am-3.30pm and 3.30pm to midnight, Monday to Friday.
Full training will be given to the successful candidate, as well as the chance to compete an IBD Diploma in Distilling.
