Ex-priest Brian Devlin, author of ‘Cardinal Sin’,  joins journalist Catherine Deveney to discuss his book and the role of the press in the downfall of the late Scottish Cardinal Keith O’Brien. The story hit front pages internationally in 2013.  Viewers can simply listen to the conversation if they prefer, but the audience will also be invited to participate with questions and comments. BREAKING NEWS: A SESSION WITH NICK SHERIDAN FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN, TEACHERS AND THOSE INTERESTED IN MEDIA EDUCATION.

Wednesday 17th November, 7-8pm

Join journalist Nick Sheridan for an interactive event that will helps kids understand the news.. With practical tips to help kids spot fake news, and top tips for budding journalists, Nick draws on his expertise to show kids how to navigate the ever confusing world of news in a humorous and reassuring way. Nick’s book, Breaking News, a guide to the news for 8–12-year-olds, is out on 23rd December 2021.

This session is for parents to attend with their children, but also for teachers and other interested parties. Please register for this event including your child’s name if you will be accompanied. Solo adults also welcome. Questions for the session can be submitted in advance to cdev2112@aol.com.
