Mairi Gallagher tells us  Helensburgh’s curling club was established in 1847. One of the towns first curling ponds was located in East King Street, but in 1896 the pond pictured here was opened in Havelock Street and was capable of accommodating twelve rinks. Later still, a pond was opened on Luss Road, opposite the towns reservoir. The pictures below give you an idea what to expect over the next five days or so.
