Jackie Baillie has raised a cuppa in support of the Samaritans’ Brew Monday campaign today (Monday, January 17).

The third Monday in January is sometimes referred to as ‘the most difficult day of the year’ and labelled Blue Monday but many people in the Dumbarton constituency will be struggling on any given day.

And the MSP has thrown her support behind the campaign to get people talking, regardless of whether that’s a virtual conversation, a text message or face-to-face.

The Dumbarton constituency MSP said: “We all have our good days and our bad days, at any time of the year.

“I am delighted to support the Samaritans in their Brew Monday campaign to help encourage people in Dumbarton, the Vale, Helensburgh and Lomond to connect with each other.

“A simple conversation can give a huge boost to someone who is struggling and it can also create opportunities for them to seek additional support if needed.

“I would urge people in my constituency to get the kettle on, share a cuppa and listen to each other.”
