There are some changes to medical related services across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde this Easter weekend. Please see below for an overview of all changes and full information can be found on our website here.
Acute and Emergency services
Our acute and emergency services will operate as normal, however, we would remind the public that A&Es are extremely busy and unless life-threatening or very urgent, you must call NHS24 on 111 to access care.
Our three dedicated Minor Injuries Units (MIU) operate seven days per week and can treat the vast majority of minor injuries. Access your nearest MIU team by calling NHS24 on 111 where you’ll receive a video or telephone consultation and be given a scheduled arrival time if you require face-to-face treatment. Find out more information on MIUs here.
GPs and Pharmacies – Don’t forget to fill your prescriptions
We would remind any patients who require repeat prescriptions written or fulfilled to contact your local GP and, or, pharmacy ahead of the Easter break.
GP practices will be closed between Friday 15th and Monday 18th April, reopening on Tuesday. If you think you need to see a GP and it can’t wait until then, please call NHS 24 on 111 to access our Out of Hours service.
Pharmacies within Health Centres will also close between Friday 15th and Monday 18th April. Most community pharmacies will remain open on Friday/Saturday/Sunday but only some will open on Monday.
You can find a full list of pharmacies open on Easter Monday by downloading our PDF here. Check with your local pharmacy for more information.
