Scotland has some of the best universities in the world., it was revealed this week.
In the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2022, which ranks 1,524 universities from 110 countries, the institutions have found themselves in the top 100.
The University of Glasgow was ranked 19th, while the University of Edinburgh found itself at 29th, and Glasgow Caledonian was placed 70th.
A further four Scottish universities, the University of Aberdeen, Strathclyde, West of Scotland, and the University of Dundee, were placed within the top 300 in the report, which was published on Wednesday.
The rankings, which are based off the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, rated institutional impact across 18 tables.
Universities Scotland director, Alastair Sim said: “Universities across Scotland are committed to improving our communities, locally and globally, and these latest rankings which are determined by our research, stewardship, outreach and teaching demonstrate the strong position our universities start from.
“The UN Sustainable Development Goals are hugely important both internationally and nationally.
“The sector is tremendously proud of our record which we will always seek to improve on.”
