Responding to the report by The Times that waiting-list times are longer than on ‘grossly misleading’ NHS site, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader and health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said: “Not only are patients having to wait excruciatingly long for treatment, the government is failing to be up-front about those waits.
“When it comes to waiting times, people need to be given correct and accurate information so that they know what to expect and arrange the necessary support in the interim.
“It is high time that the Health Secretary (Humza Yousaf) sets out a new direction for his failed NHS Recovery Strategy.
The SNP’s current worthless 12-week Treatment Time Guarantee law must also be amended to tell patients the reality of the average and longest waiting times for the procedure they need. People deserve to know the truth.”
