150 years of Dumbarton Football Club
Leitch Keir (1861 – 1922)
Keir played as centre half/left half and gained 5 international caps for Scotland. He made 49 appearances for Dumbarton during the years 1882 – 1897. Nicknamed “the Lion”, he was famous for the power and accuracy of his free kicks.
Keir played in Dumbarton teams that won both the Scottish Cup in 1883 and Scottish Football League in 1891, the only player to do so.
