POLICE: ELDERLY COUPLE DIE IN CRASH ON ROAD TO OBAN

Martin, 70, and Jo Cousland, 69, the elderly couple who died in a car crash yesterday.

Police have named the couple who died in the fatal crash in Argyll yesterday (Friday, 31 March 2023).
Husband and wife, Martin, 70, and Jo Cousland, 69, who lived in Anstruther, Fife, were fatally injured when their car was involved in a  collision on the A85, between Arrivain and Dalmally. The accident happened around around 2 pm.
Mr and Mrs Cousland died at the scene. Their relatives have been made aware of the tragedy and a report will be submitted by the police to the Procurator Fiscal.
The three male occupants of the other car involved in the crash were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where they remain for treatment.  Medical staff have described their condition as stable.
Sergeant Archie McGuire, Police Scotland, Roads Policing Unit in Argyll, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr and Mrs Cousland.
“We are continuing our inquiries and would appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash to get in touch with police.
“I would also ask anyone who was travelling in the area who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
Information can be passed to officers via 101 quoting incident 1923 of Friday, 31 March 2023.
