Patrick Harvie wants Scots to get on their bike

A new blueprint which could bring about a “revolution in everyday cycling” is being published by the Scottish Government – with ministers also pledging to invest more cash in active travel.

Patrick Harvie said the budget for active travel is due to rise from almost £200 million this year to £320 million – or 10% of the overall transport budget – by 2024-25.

Mr Harvie, the active travel minister, said: “That investment will help us build an active nation, delivering on our vision of helping more people choose walking, wheeling and cycling for journeys than ever before.”

A motion to parliament 🤩  Our Skylark IX Tapestry has been motioned to parliament, to be recognised and acknowledged for its importance in celebrating the legacy of Dunkirk little ship, the Skylark IX in all it’s glory, as a prevalent portrayal of our shared history and heritage, honouring the past and uniting communities.

Our Skylark IX in stitch group members are DELIGHTED, and we have no doubt you as our Skylark IX Community will be equally and rightfully as proud as we continue to keep the Story of The Skylark IX alive through our Community Engagement work.
Keep an eye out on our social media pages for information of where and when you can next come see the Tapestry… announcement coming soon.

Friends of Dumbarton Foreshore

We were hooked on Dumbarton’s lovely views on Sunday, joined by Friends of Leven River Valley and youth volunteers from Dumbarton area’s PSYV group, as we celebrated 5 years of protecting our shores from litter. Liz Daly found this unusual number plate at Sandpoint, while Gary Barrass found Scooby Doo – but the kids weren’t pesky at all, they got properly stuck in! Little Rowan Mair, also aged 5 (centre pic) had learnt how to litter pick with her school. Areas of east shore, behind the Rock and beside the Football Club were tackled too. Thanks to you all, the shores are looking good in time for summer (we just need it to properly start now!)
